This chapter compares the state management of urban memorials of colonialism in Portugal and Mozambique. It examines post-colonial spatial pedagogy in Mozambique as a montage of various discourses and practices that can advance criticism of a persistent pedagogy of inequality through memorials in Portugal. It advocates an expert knowledge of the urban that contributes to proper policy decisions on such spaces.
